Named Accountable GP

All patients are allocated a named GP who is responsible for your overall care at the practice.  The named GP is shown on the counterfoil for ordering repeat prescriptions. Alternatively a member of the practice team will be able to let you know who your GP is.  Should you have a preference for your named GP, please contact the Head Receptionist who will endeavour to accommodate your request.  You are free to see any GP you choose and if you require a GP appointment urgently and your named GP is not available, please book in with another available GP.

The role of the named GP will not:

  • Take on vicarious responsibility for the work of other doctors or health professionals.
  • Take on 24-hour responsibility for the patient, or have to change their working hours.
  • Imply personal availability for GPs throughout the working week.
  • Be the only GP or clinician who will provide care to that patient.
